Best DPS ship in Fractured Space.

Randoms vs full stack premade tank squad

Even when not up against coordinated teams, the Furion gets focused down like nothing else in the game. Had to pick my fights conservatively.

Unlike all other DPS ships, the Furion is a linear go up to someone and burn them ship. No agility, bad turn rates. Has no long range poke, relying on medium opener then close in for the kill game play.

Has an Afterburner on a long cooldown. Most players use it as an escape mechanism after getting whoever it was they wanted to kill. I use it to cut across the enemy team and go behind them. This forces the enemy to choose between turning back to shoot me and expose themselves to my team or ignore my Furion and pay for it.

Rocks and other cover objects are my escape mechanism :)

Seems to work.

Leviathan
Heavy Assault vessel.
The Frontline is wherever it was you parked your ship.

Swiss Army knife of Fractured Space tanks. It has zoning presence, doesn't mind getting punched in the face, bites back, makes coffee. Can also drop temporary jump points to get allies respawning right on top of you. Useful when raiding the enemy base to end a match.

The game classifies heavy ships into many different categories. To me there are only primary tanks and support tanks. And there are only 2 primary tanks. Colossus and Leviathan.

This isn't to say the other tanks are shit. As far as balancing goes, the game makers did a terrific job of keeping each ship reasonably comparable to one another in terms of power when trading damage 1v1. But each individual ship have their nuances. It just so happens the Colossus and Leviathan can operate somewhat independent of your own team mate's abilities. In a random queue lobby, this means your job as a tank isn't dictated by what your other team-mates do or chooses to do when you fly either a Colossus or Leviathan.

Incidentally, all the other support tanks pair well with the primary tanks if your team chose to run double tanks. Running double primary works ok versus a solo tank enemy but if the other side has a primary + support tank then they have the advantage.

Video is of me flying Levi not giving a fuck about anything other than just ending the match coz #grind.

Interesting match happened right after I wrote the above post. Went up against a full 5 man stack who went DPS heavy setup.

They had the Leviathan primary. Paired it up with another heavy assault support tank. Furion (best DPS ship) led the charge backed up by the third best DPS ship as their secondary attack craft. Supported finally by a meh hybrid combat medic. Looking at the draft page, the setup was a nightmare team to face off against. Especially considering our picks which were:

- Colossus first pick (strong presence but no pew pew)
- Beginner medic (neither here nor there but ain't terrible)
- Flanked by 2 niche picks the same hybrid combat medic the enemy has and a capture specialist that's obsolete during the holiday event.

Kine held the final pick....

My initial reaction was to choose either Furion or Leviathan coz it's obvious enemy has an obscene amount of damage potential whilst we had absolutely none. But whether I went with Furion or Leviathan our team would still have only one of those whilst the enemy has both Furion AND Leviathan plus the others.

So I wondered what the matchup would be like if I paired my defensive low dmg Colossus with the Aegis, a shielding support tank.

Aegis works like Zarya from Overwatch but has the Hanzo ult. She can shield herself and an ally that increases her energy if that shield takes damage. Once you collect enough energy Aegis can then spit out a Hanzo AoE ult.

## The whole Primary tank + Support tank beats all stuff I made up in the above post is purely hypothetical at this point. This match takes theory out onto the field and see how well my shit holds up. Fact that this is a randoms vs full stack premade makes it even better. My team mate wanting to surrender at minute one simply coz of team compositions made it even sweeter. ##

-spoiler- 13 and 0 Takedowns MVP as Aegis support tank lol.

Interceptor
Medium Attack Vessel
Second best DPS ship in my books

45° Frontal Cone optimal weapon arc. Same as Furion. Shoot anywhere outside that 45° and you do 50% rate of fire. Basically, park your ship somewhere safe, stare at enemy straight in the face from long-medium range and let loose.

OK long range poke
Very OK medium sustain and burst dmg
Not OK at short range.

Interceptor has a limited angle AoE skill shot cannon. I fail at this one badly. Need to improve on that. Actually missed trying to shoot the biggest ship in the game at medium range.

Top kills, zero deaths, insane ambush one shots, 13m20s video

USR Endeavour
Area Denial Specialist
Niche pick

This ship deploy turrets aka. Bushwacker / Torbjorn character.
Can also throw out a Gravity Well which pulls and hold enemy ships in place. Combos well with its turrets.
Most Endeavour pilots I see don't even try to use the ship's kit properly. Dunno why.
In this match I get to demo this tactic multiple times.

Bonus:
Enemy pilot flying the Furion is very good at doing his job.
Get to see Furion in action from the wrong side of the action lol.
Scary ship in the right hands. And unfortunately Endeavour has nothing in it's arsenal that can handle a Furion charging straight for me. So I die to it every single time. Otherwise, a good game.

USR Disruptor
Light Support
Medic mains swear by this ship

Best healer skillset in the game imo. Hands free drone healing lets you focus on flying more. Detection pulse helps it deal with a medic's number 1 threat, Stealth ships. Disarm skillshot module can be clutch when used at the right time. Last but not least, a sector wide blink-to-ally ability on very short cooldown. Everything in the Disruptor's kit is relevant to how a medic operates in an actual PvP match. The only thing this ship lacks is a gun that works on other players.

When all 10 players know how to play the game.
No easy picks, no careless over-extending.
Even skill on both sides.
Almost a mirror match where both teams ran Furion + 2 support DPS + Aircraft Carrier solo tank + Medic

Kine was a support DPS tasked with keeping the enemy stealth ship at bay. 50-50 performance although he owned me in the first half.
Stealth pilots are a little like Genji from Overwatch.
The low level players suck balls while the high level ones can be very scary.

Had 2 jobs to do.
Stay alive to drop detection sensors for my team to locate the stealth ship (Giant blue bubble you see on the battlefield)
Poke with my rockets non stop and score damage from a safe distance.

Thanks to low PVP playerbase, my tank medic duo queue kept getting put against the same 4 man stack 2 matches in a row with the same random team mates. One of whom kept giving up and AFK'ing coz he didn't like the odds. When he did show up for fights, I refused to give him heals coz he was being a dick. We lost both rounds.

When the same teams faced off each other YET AGAIN for a third helping my squad mate thought it'd be better if he did the healing while I did the tanking. He also managed to get the whiny team mate to actually play the game this time around.

Mid level MMR
Mid level accounts
Kine Leviathan. Wasn't pretty. Wasn't elegant. Died alot when I shouldn't have coz peeps behinds me kept warping out prematurely.

Enemy team made us work for it but work we did.

[edit] Sweet new Leviathan veterancy skin for completing a faction campaign. Called Levi-426 the skin is HR Geiger'ish. Looks something like from the Aliens movie.

vs one of the three discord death squads that terrorizes the pvp queue.
their destroyer apparently liked my bear traps and asked for an upload
short 3 minute video of the play of the game lol

Endeavour is the support ship that drop turrets.
