Seems that passengers are the better start. I'm in Year 1957, my profit is around 100Mio a year, I've build two huge industry lines, rest is passengers. Biggest city is around 2500.

How to almost completely fk it up... set your vehicle replacement on an Ore line to Livestock carriages. Other than killing the ore line, it also turned the Steel mill to a loss and therefore killed demand for it's coal supply also. Then without steel coming out that half killed a Machine factory. Lost more than 50m before I noticed.

Keep forgetting to not run the game on fast, getting too far ahead.

Year 1971
I've build a lot of new industries. They need some more years to make good money and they need some more fine tuning to work with profit. But almost every city on the river has some kind of industry. Next step will be to create a shipline, so all cities close to the river will have acces to all products. Once that is done I'll conect the outer cities to the network. During this step I will improve the lorrie network to make the transport more efficiency. After that I'll focus again on the passenger network again. Rebuild the inner city transport and add some new highspeed trains. But that will be probably around Year 2000.
Biggest city is chester with almost 3000. Max profit line is wood on 5 trains with 17,6Mio a Year. Income is around 324Mio and growing. Profit is around 70Mio.

Hi,

Its going ok - not too bad for only my second proper go :) I've kept just to roads rather than railways for now. Majority buses and am currently working out some goods routes.
